productivity
So, Tuesdays With Morrie is in the death and grieving section of Barnes & Noble. Weird? yes. This confused me. But not I kinda get it, I guess. Don't let that turn you away though. It's a very versatile book! ha.
Yesterday, my long list of errands started with taking a ton of Japanese Cherry Blossom lotion and stuff to Val at the salon (surprise!) -- she was happy to see me. She was also the first person to get an announcement! Well, other than Devin's work. I bought some conditioner, cause I use way more conditioner than shampoo, apparently, and we talked about how she will do my hair for my bridals on saturday. she's doing my hair and makeup for me a few hours before she goes to GREECE! She's amazing, and also very lucky. Love her.
Then I ran some other errands, and got Dev and I some curve ball sandwiches from Ernie's and surprised him with them when I met him at his house.
After we ate, we went to our house -- Grandma is currently using the [giant] living room to tie quilts for some family reunions. We went over and helped her. Devin learned how to tie quilts -- i'm so proud! haha My aunts Steff and Melissa were there, and so was my cousin Lyndsey, and her 2 kids, Bennett and Haley.
I helped tie a little bit, but mostly just cut, and played with the little ones. Haley is about 8 1/2 months old and she's so beautiful! I love holding her, and she always starts out totally fine. then she catches a glimpse of her mom and screams! I am determined to have her like me. Devin says I should just leave her alone, haha.
When Haley had enough, I played with Ben. He's the nicest 2 year old I've ever met. Also? He's a dinosaur expert. He knows everything. All I have to do is pick up a toy dinosaur and ask what is is, and he will tell me everything there is to know! We also played that old school fishing game and every time I caught one, he would say "whoa! good job!" Adorable? yes.
He is also pretty intrigued that Devin and I are going to live in his old house, haha. So cute.
After we left, we went tie shopping. One of the last things left on the list! Found some classy ties for the groomsmen, and some equally awesome ties for our Dads.
After that, Devin wanted to get some new temple pants, so we went over to that strip mall with the Distribution Center, and everything had closed at 6:00! We thought that was insanity, but then realized it was Monday. Family Night. So we headed back to his house, and hung out with his parents.
His dad just got released on Sunday after being Bishop for almost 6 years. I was so sad I couldn't be there with the family to support him (dang work!), but he is such an amazing man, and I'm glad that Devin has had such a great example his whole life -- it definitely shows!
Anyway, since being released, everyone in their ward has been bringing plates and plates of treats over! Devin and I gladly helped by eating some peanut butter cookies and chocolate mint brownies.
For Family Night, we watched The Office. I love that we have FHE together, haha. Except, really every night is FHE for us... because we spend every night together... haha we watched the office because I didn't have my temple prep guide, so we figured some quality future family time was just as good.
We've started watching the office in order, instead of random episodes, because i've never watched the whole series all the way through. We started on season 3... don't know why... but it's making WAY more sense! haha I had followed it pretty well, but I always get the time line wrong, and have definitely missed some episodes. So this has been pretty exciting. On Sunday, we watched 8 episodes. I'm serious. Last night, we watched 4 i think. I thought that after the first 2, Devin would want to go to sleep, but when it ended, he turned on the next episode -- I was so happy! love getting some extra time. And after that one, he turned on another one! Even though he fell asleep for the last one, I was still glad I had some extra time with him. And I was even home and in bed by 11:00.
Today I work both jobs -- I'm really starting to not like these days. It's so draining to come home from work -- and then go to work again. What a let down! Hopefully I will start working full time at the desk job soon enough though. But I also just can't bring myself to leave BBW. I love that store, and there is so much going on, that I would hate to leave and add to all the problems we're having! I have promised myself to stick it out, do what I can as a senior employee to make things run smoothly, and support my managers. Hopefully everything will calm down once Ken Monterra's visit is over... bah.

inspired
i have been inspired lately to be more productive and organized and happy.
inspired by the book i'm reading, Tuesdays With Morrie to be happier, and live my life more fully. to be more human. to live in the moments, instead of living through the moments. to enjoy silence and time alone.
inspired by my almost-sister, Amanda, and Devin, to be more organized and productive. fit more into my day. make goals that are reachable, and short-term. to be more creative and to grow closer to the Lord.
inspired by my almost-sister, Chloe, to be more active. exercise more. eat better. drink more water. also to make weekly goals (seems like it's working great for her to make small goals each week -- totally trying this!)
today, work was busier than i wanted it to be for a monday, but i stayed happy (thanks to a special request from devin this morning on my way to work). I didn't let the rude people put me in a bad mood, and I think it actually made work go by faster!
the rain helped too, i love rain. it makes everything kind of gloomy-looking. but rain particularly makes me feel very relaxed and content. don't know why.
when i got home, i went straight to the stationary bike we have, and rode for 30 minutes. it went by so fast! probably because i read the whole time. i liked that i was exercising hard, but it wasn't hurting any more than i should, and it didn't seem like centuries -- definitely reading while i ride form now on.
then i deep cleaned my room, with that extra energy boost.
now that i'm showered, i plan on putting away my laundry and running a big long list of errands before devin gets off work.

Tuesdays With Morrie
I don't care if you haven't read it.
I don't care if you hate reading books written since the early 1900's.
I don't care if you hate reading in general.
I don't care if you don't have time to read.
i will lend you my copy.
because i will probably be done by the end of the day.
and you will thank me.
it is higher on the list than TKAM for you all right now -- serious! it's life-changing.
i read it in high school i think -- i don't really remember. i just remember loving it.
i bought a copy yesterday and took it to work today-- haven't been able to put it down!
it's short and sweet and a very simple read. you will love it.
I don't care if you've read it a million times.

p.s. i'm thinking it's time for a makeover again. i'm getting a little restless these days ;)

in case you weren't already convinced
that devin is the best. ever.
(but i'm pretty sure you should've been convinced a long time ago, and if you're not... i will feel free to correct you :) haha)
....today, I decided to sleep in. like, WAY sleep in. well, not really, because i got woken up at 7:00 a.m. so my bed could get taken away, and then there were several failed attempts to sneak away and fall back asleep in the guest bedroom... but anyway, i finally got back to sleep and stayed in bed until about 11:30... haha. i need it, okay?!
but that's all beside the point... how about we just start over?
in case you weren't already convinced that devin is the best ever... this morning (noon) i recieved the following text from the ever-amazing man i get to call my fiance:
"would you let me take your car and wash and detail it?"
wha???? you want to wash and detail my car? um... YES PLEASE! isn't he the greatest?
i know, right?
even though he proceeded to tell me how gross it was that there was lotion residue all over the steering wheel (oops)... he voluntarily detailed my car. he is the greatest. and he sure loves clean cars. i'm a lucky woman!
that kind of thing just doesn't go un-shared in my book. he deserves to be recognized for all the sweet things he does for me :)
i always make it a point to thank him every night for whatever we did that day, for the time we spent together, for helping me with something, for taking me to dinner... and i think i've done a pretty good job of always saying thank you, but he deserves so much more than that. so i try to do nice things in return, like leave a cupcake on his desk, or put gas in his car... i think i'm eternally endebted though, which is alright with me :)
while he had my car, he left me with Max. so naturally, we had to spend some quality time together. Kayla and I ran some errands together, and I picked up my dress -- I had a woman in my home ward's daughter do it -- she did AMAZING. and she got it all done over night. i can't even believe it! oh, did i mention she was also doing this the week of her due date for a sweet little baby girl?! yeah. amazing. i picked it up, tried it on... it's perfect. i can't wait!
devin and i are taking my bridals next saturday (cross your fingers for good enough weather!) and i can't wait. i am so excited to be able to share something like that with devin.
when i finally made it over to his house, my shiny, squeaky clean car was there, and then we took his to get it washed -- maybe it's just me, but automatic carwashes are so fun. i'm just mesmorized! and SuperSonic definitely has the coolest one... and the nicest.
then we needed some armorall wipes for both of our cars, and devin needed a burger, and i needed a shake... so we made our way very promptly to in-n-out. spent about an hour cleaning our cars some more. designed kelli and sean's wedding announcement (so cute). and then went on a triple date with emily and andrew, andrew's brother, and andrew's brother's girlfriend. we went to coney's (meh) and then to sam's house to watch the office and play THE GAME OF THINGS...
i had only ever seent he commerical for that game, and i have told devin at least 13 times how much i wanted it. and i was right. we definitely need to own that one (feel free to get it for us as a wedding gift ;) ?!?! haha). it was hilarious. we played it all kinds of different ways -- what a blast.
9:00 hit and devin and i were both super tired, so we went back to his house, watched some more office with brandon and the dogs, and then called it a night. now, i have work in the morning, and probably a lot of things to do to fill up the rest of the day.
the point is: devin is the best. i love that he loves to clean things. my car looks like it's brand new. and i love the office and the game of things. the end.

baffled
i don't know how i met devin. it was sooo much by chance. he just happened to grow up next to the Peavler's, and fall in love with photography. and tracey just happened to get engaged right as her and i became better friends. and she just happened to ask devin to be her photographer. and i was just looking for an excuse to wear a pretty dress...
i don't know how i'd never met devin until then though. we have a decent amount of mutual friends. or at least mutual acquaintences. we've camped for years and years at the same middle-of-nowhere place in wyoming. same interests... same town... only a few years apart...
it baffles me. both ways. how did we meet? but how did we not meet? I see the Lord's hand in so many aspects of our relationship. and that alone is what makes me know that it's real. that there is something strong that this relationship is built on. that there is something very unwavering keeping it so close. having the Lord play such a big part in our life has been a huge blessing. one i didn't expect. and i don't know if its role in my feeling so right about devin is a means of reinforcement for obedience, or if it's something else... but i could never complain :)
the last couple of days, devin and i have been doing a lot of things we did at the beginning of our relationship... i'm talking like week 1. we went to Sammy's for grilled cheese with Ryan and Danica. we drove around orem and provo aimlessly... we laid in the grass at our favorite spot in the freezing cold... and i told devin that i loved those firsts so much, as funny as they were -- feeling nervous and anxious and a little awkward, but excited and happy -- but i love these last few days just as much, just differently. now, we can do all of those things, but we get to skip those steps that get in the way of really being with each other. it's so nice to feel so complete, and so like myself. but still feel giddy, haha
i also love that devin and i's "awkward" stage, at the beginning of the relationship... didn't last long. we were so comfortable with each other so immediately, that we skipped a lot of those annoying steps, and i feel like that is just even more reason why we are so great for each other. there was hardly any time where i felt worried about what to say, or how to act... it has always come very naturally around him. i love that. i love him.
i love my fiance. he is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. and I love the Lord for blessing me with such an amazing person to spend eternity with. i could truly never ask for more.

bedTIME.
slow day at work. which was nice. except i had nothing to read.
i asked for a lot of days off... which i feel kind of bad for. but it's for my wedding/honeymoon. bridal shower. sister's wedding. and the grey's... which are all perfectly acceptable reasons to skip out on the office for a few days.
safety and emissions done on my car... so i can take it in on Thursday to get the title turned over to me, and have it registered in my name (big deal!)
devin picked up the announcements (those were done fast!) they are PERFECT. (i say that about all of our wedding plans, don't i? that's because it's true. everything is awesome. no. everything is PERFECT!)
i bought some more songs for the playlist. total classics. i'm soooo excited. so the playlist(s) is (are) now complete. officially. CHECK!
we almost went to the range to hit a bucket of balls, but it was too cold. i would be sad about this, but i get cold so easily, that i would have been miserable anyway, haha. plus, i'm not super looking forward to embarrassing myself in front of Devin with my giant lack of golf skill. BUT... we do need to practice, since we're hoping to play at SouthGate while honeymooning.
my wedding shoes came. so i just had to try them on with the dress -- oh don't even worry, it's even better than i had DREAMED!!!
started making a new round of wedding decorations, coming along slowly but VERY CUTE.
spent all night with devin listening to the fictionist and addressing announcements to our friends and families.
we got 250 done tonight. TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY ANNOUNCEMENTS. AND WE ARENT DONE!
we are even hand writing all of them. which is cool. and it was fun anyway.
then i played wii golf with my little brother. i only shot... oh, 25 over? kyle? he was under 2. granted, i wasn't trying very hard, but WOW.
my little sister got asked to prom. aww
my mom bought me THE CUTEST cake pans. just for fun. while she was at Tai Pan Trading. she's the best mom ever. i am so excited to use them. they are seriously the cutest cake pans i've ever seen.
i organized my wedding stuff... i have a full size couch in my room, and it has become the home of my wedding junk. it has decorations, magazines, boxes and bags full of stuff... decorations, the mirror's hanging out (bahaha, pun intended) there... it's pretty cool i guess.
tomorrow i get my dress altered!
devin picked out what we are wearing for family pictures ont he 7th -- haha i only say that because i am starting to wear clothes i don't wear a lot, and he decided he likes this, haha.
bedTIME.
