quarantine

so... the APT has a spider problem.

and it's getting bad.

in the first 2 months that we lived here, we had maybe 2 spiders... not a big deal.

yeah, freaks me out. but i'm not so insane that i can't understand that it's just a part of life. there will always be spiders.

whatever.

but in the past 2 weeks...

we've had probably 20.

and they're big. and fast. and all different colors.

and they make me scream and jump and cry.

like last night... i was organizing some gift-wrap stuff in the office, and a huge spider ran out from the tissue paper i was holding.

and in less than a second, i swear, i had screamed, burst into tears, and was against the wall in the hallway saying "dev, there's a spider in there. it's fast"

he laughed.

and then i started laughing, but i was still crying, which made me laugh harder.

and it was slightly hilarious. but still scary.

3 hours later... it's 12:30. and we're sleeping. but i have to go to the bathroom. so i do.

and then as i'm about to walk out of the bathroom. i notice a HUGE spider on the wall by the toilet.

and i can't bring myself to wake my husband up.

so i go get his shoe out of the closet.

and i move the garbage can and the plunger and squish it.

and MISSED.

and it runs all over the place.

and this goes on for 5 minutes.

and it WON'T DIE.

and i finally got it.

and i realized what happened.

and bolted back into the bedroom.

and it took 2 hours to fall asleep.

7 hours later.... Devin is getting ready for work

and i'm awake but still sleeping (? haha)

and Devin realizes he's late for a meeting at work

and hurries to finish getting ready and leaves

and i get up

and go into the bathroom

and there's a spider in the sink.

the sink that's still wet from Devin brushing his teeth!

are you kidding me?

so i drown it and let the water run for a few minutes, just to make sure.

and i put on jeans

and went to walmart

and bought Spectacide

and sprayed everything. all the windows. all the door frames.

the stairs and outside our door.

and then i left.

and now i'm sitting on my mom's couch.

(our internet wasn't working anyway)

i didn't want to get toxic poisoning from the spray.

and now i'm talking to my sister online

she is the office assistant at Spiderman Pest Control in North Salt Lake

so i asked for her advice.

and she said to make sure the outside gets sprayed.

all the window wells and everything.

and she said if that doesn't work...

to fumigate

with a thing called a "bug bomb"

this is getting serious!!!!

it's a war zone over there!!!

and remember how i'm almost positive i have aracnophobia?

yeah... NOT. HELPING.
