katie, lately

 

so, we've still never really edited our wedding photos, but i'm pretty sure when we get around to it, i'll want a black and white version of all of them. also? so mega-grateful for this guy lately.

 

this is my nephew kaden. i got to spend a whole morning/afternoon with my nieces and nephew.

kaden has started a karate class. this is what he did when i asked him to show me what he's learned so far.

this is kadenator at the library. he chose to check out dragon books and was so excited about them.

 

this is my sweet addi-mae at lunch that afternoon. she was being such a ham all day long. i can't stand how much i love her. those eyes! that goofy grin!

      

she's become such a big girl lately. always wants to do things by herself.

i just can't even handle the cuteness of these three. they are perfect! i'm one lucky aunt! (not pictured: my only other nephew, ben. the world's cutest baby. literally. although he isn't included in the picture, he is included in the holy cuteness that is my nieces and nephews and i'm obsessed with all 4 of them.)

  

we FINALLY planted herbs! they smell amazing. we are so excited to use them in our cooking!

 

so... this is the kind of stuff that ends up happening when we spend the evening in kamas with brandon. we'll start out playing with the dogs (five of them this night!). then we'll progress to some delicious barbecue dinner. then we'll move to the camp chairs in front of the garage and bask in the low 70's. and then we'll head over to the slack line. then, someone will bring up the infamous horse head mask.. and things get weird. hilariously weird.

please take care to notice brandon's "thuggie" - there is no better combination then a guy, on a slack line, in the thuggie, wearing a horse mask. it just doesn't exist.

 

also recently: pool time. like, a lot of it. this was our double date with my sister and her boyfriend. basically our favorite double date couple right now. they came up to herriman and we took them to sodarow for lunch and then went swimming. funnest afternoon. love those two.

 

the treats i picked up at Swirly Girls Bakery on SodaRow: a cotton candy cupcake (it was the most amazing and delicious cupcake i have ever eaten in my life. the best frosting, the most perfect flavor. i don't think i can ever eat another cupcake again. nothing will compare!) and a chocolate croissant (which i saved and ate the next day for breakfast...) - the most buttery delicious thing.

some more of the coolest babies around. ellie on the left, the greatest most adorable one year old of all time. i just love her to death and want to take her home! we always joke with lynn and jared (her parents, our dear friends), that she's the only baby that makes us baby hungry! and on the right, sweet little montgomery, just days old! my mom, sister and i took dinner to my cousin McKenzie after this little guy was born. he was so content and relaxed. it was the cutest thing.

he's taken to sticking his head out the window, and goes into "guard dog mode" every time the front window blinds are open. it's hilarious and adorable at the same time.

such a mama's boy. i love it.

 

getting taaallllll - and this is cooper and his very best friend, addie. she's a mountain dog puppy about his same age, but about three times his size and she lives 2 doors down from us. they are the cutest when they play! it takes us forever to tear them apart!

 

we explored the park next to our house for the first time on sunday. cooper approved.

brandon headed down to moab to escape this lousy smarch weather and we couldn't say no to a chance to watch riley and koda! we just had them for 3 days, and it was a little crazy but such a blast! they are the best dogs. it's hilarious to watch cooper and koda. they love to play together and never leave each other's side. riley is the fun police and likes to break things up before they get too exciting, but koda and cooper always find a way around him. cooper was also getting pretty jealous. if i called to one of the other dogs to pet them or have them lay by me, cooper was right there, doing all he could to be closer to me than them. he wasn't letting anyone share his mama! he was so territorial and it was pretty cute. he's such a mama's boy! i'm okay with that :) he's been so happy to have friends over, though. he loves to show off all his toys and they played musical chairs allll night with their beds. nobody seemed to be happy enough to just sleep in their own. brandon will be by later tonight to pick them up and it'll be nice to not have to use a lint roller every day, but i will miss this full house! they have become the cutest trio and i'm so glad cooper gets along with other dogs so well. 

more of our weekend: kamas bound

we had planned to spend our saturday rock climbing with brandon and his dogs, but the weather never agrees with us! we tossed around the idea of doing some indoor climbing at the gym, but in the end, we decided to head up to kamas instead and hang out up there! we went on a drive up into the uintah's and it snowed the biggest, prettiest snow, and we went on a cold little walk until the guys were tired of me complaining (haha). we drove straight to the Rhode Island Diner after that for some dinner. they are the coolest, most classic 50's diner and serve delicious food! i scored an awesome bumper sticker and had a delicious pulled pork sandwich and then we headed back to brandon's. it was raining all afternoon, so we pulled my car into the garage and brandon and devin changed the brakes for me! it was so much fun to hang out in the garage by the fire and listen to music while they worked on the car. we aren't very hard to please, obviously :)

miss addimae / / easter

my sweet little addison is 3 years old! i can hardly believe it and it makes me a little sad to see her grow up and become such a big girl! she is so smart and absolutely adorable. addi has one of the biggest personalities and she is always making everyone laugh. she can throw a champion tantrum, but melts your heart with how sweet she can be at the same time. when i met addi, she was just 7 months old. i loved to babysit her and rock her to sleep. she was such a darling baby, and so, so quickly got up on those feet and was a toddler before we knew it! until they moved to vernal and we moved to herriman, seeing addi and her brother and sister was a very regular thing. we were always with them and always doing things with family, and being around them that often, you kind of forget that time is passing and they're growing up. now all of a sudden, she's three, makayla is TEN (whaaaa????) and kadenator is 6! i love and adore that little girl more than words can say and am so excited to watch her grow up. having nieces and nephews has been some of the most fun i've ever had in my life. those 4 little kiddos are so, so important to me and i'm so glad i get to be their aunt. now, miss Addison, grow up a little slower from now on, okay? i love you, baby girl!

since addi's birthday was on easter weekend, we did a lot of celebrating! we couldn't make it to her birthday party on saturday (we were in ogden with my siblings), but we had a big easter sunday party and it was so much fun! holidays are so much better with little kids around :)
