that's all, folks.

don't be surprised by the fact that we're still crazy busy. and by we i mean devin. his busyness makes me feel busy, though. it seems like nothing has slowed down at all since we moved. he's had 2 opening shifts this week (which means he's at the gym by 6am, which means we're both up a little after 4am...) and he's started school. and still working full time. and covering other people's butts when they're whiny and he finally had an evening off (we must've jinxed it.)

luckily, we were able to get out last night and go to dinner. we were both pretty excited when we realized how deserted the gateway is on a wednesday night. and that we can take a quick drive up to SLC any night of the week for dinner. this is a new. and it's great.

other things...

>pretty little liars finale? i'm shocked. freakin' Toby.
>work goes by so fast. still. it's so awesome.
>i finally understand the sonic happy hour hype. thanks to our office manager getting us all lemon berries yesterday. yum.
>everybody needs to stop having babies. at least until i get my puppy. then you can carry on.
>i discovered last night that Herriman has more than 1 main road with business on it. less boonie than i thought. touche.
>the things i've come to miss most about our old place are target and our yellow bedroom wall.

i kept thinking today was friday. which is the worst. this weekend we don't have many big plans. thanks goodness. we are so excited to go to our new ward on sunday. i can't wait to meet some people! i hope there are other young couples like us without kids. we need Herriman friends! plus devin needs a guy friend that's close by so he can watch all the games (since we're sans cable).

we've got a pretty giant ikea trip in our future, and once that's done, i'll be able to finish up all the decorating and organizing, and i can finally post pictures of the finished house. in the mean time, i'm putting together the details for our housewarming party, hopefully in the next 2 weeks or so. i'm so excited to have our friends come up and see! i have missed them, our friends.

we got the house put together for the most part much, much faster than i had anticipated. things have been running smoothly, and we've been doing our best to decorate when we have the time. devin started school today, so we are crazy busy. i woke up feeling absolutely awful, and stayed home from work. it's a good sign that i wish i was at work though, right? i'm feeling better, but i think after how busy we've been, my body just needs the rest!

i wanted to make sure i documented the pictures we've been taking as we go, including the virtually pointless pictures i took on my phone during our very first time walking through the house. it's just a one bedroom, one bathroom townhome - but it's the perfect size for the two of us... with room for a dog, of course.

the packing took about a week. the unpacking? about two days.

disaster status.

Photobucket
this is blurry, but i was pretty shocked to see just how many vases and jars i had, once i started gathering them all together to be packed! hoarders, anybody?! (this is probably only 2/3 of them!)

Photobucket
it looked so big and empty and uninhabited! especially once we took everything off the walls.

our life in boxes

we officially live in Herriman! we've been greeted by daily afternoon rainstorms, which we definitely don't mind. we love it here so far, and things have been going smoothly - more-so than i thought.

we ended up not having any help with moving and did one load by ourselves on friday night. saturday morning, we did another, and then brandon and devin's mom came just in time to grab the last few things and brandon helped devin pick up our new washer and dryer. (front loading washers weight at least 300 pounds... yikes!)

today is our first full day here and we're pretty much unpacked. we still have a lot of decorating to do, but we absolutely love our new place. the only thing missing is a puppy! we have plans for a housewarming party as soon as devin gets into a routine with school - man, we're gonna be busy! we've taken pictures but don't have the energy to upload any off the camera. i'll post plenty about the house as things start coming together more.

it's strange to not live in utah valley anymore - but we're glad to have this change of pace. it's exactly what we needed! at this point, we are excited to explore Herriman a little more, take advantage of how close we are to SLC, do some much needed shopping at Ikea and meet our neighbors!

it's only tuesday?

what a crazy week it's already been.

we got our leasing paperwork, and have had loads and loads to look over, read and sign.
we've had accounts to set up and insurance companies to update.
we've had addresses and multiple accounts to forward.

and we've been packing forever - it seems like it will never end! i didn't realize how much stuff we had until we had to put it all in boxes. and at the same time, we still have to live! it makes things hard. i don't like having to wait to the last minute, but with some things, we don't have a choice!

work has been a lot of fun. i love the people i work with and i'm learning a lot. i'm definitely starting to get the hang of things, but it can still be stressful at times. this week has been especially hard. on monday, we got the news that one of the owners had taken his own life. i had interviewed with him only one week ago. we were all totally shocked, and obviously, so sad. working for a family company, the rest of us that aren't family have tried to step up and take over so the family has time to grieve and process the situation, which has been the least we can do, but has also resulted in a bit of scrambling. he was so young, and had young children. so heartbreaking. he had so many great friends and was loved and respected by everyone who knew him, and will be missed every day. the hardest part has been talking to customers, vendors we use and delivery men and women who all knew him well and worked with him regularly. nobody can believe the news. nobody wants to.

hoping the rest of the week goes a little bit better...?

a week of lasts

a few days ago, we went grocery shopping for the last time at Target. i loved that store! especially after all the updates. I'll definitely miss grocery shopping at that super target. i guess we'll just have to find a new grocery store to love.

the rest of this week will have a lot of other lasts. and today was our last day at the Geneva Heights 8th Ward. We loved that ward! we are so sad to leave, especially sad to leave our nursery kids. They were so great! I will miss the mix of fun and frustration we had with them every other week, and i'll miss how quickly those 2 hours would go by! All of these kids are so full of personality and we loved every one of them!

Photobucket Photobucket
< the kids decided on their own that it was time to clean up and have a snack. they all cleaned up all the toys and sat down at the table without any direction from devin or i. so funny.
> twirling is a big thing in our class. all the cool kids twirl. which means every single one of them does.

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
< Owen! Devin nicknamed him O-Zone a long time ago, and it's stuck ever since. He's so funny and so adorable! We would totally take him home!

Photobucket Photobucket
playing for hours, using the stove as a tunnel is a coveted toy.

Lily runs the McDonald's in our class, and once she found the phone, she would also alert the other kids when their mommies and daddies would "call"

JACKSON! I. Love. This. Boy.

Photobucket
Lexi! One of the sweetest, most girly and silly little ones I've ever met. She is such a sweetheart!
