(props to my friend Katrina for being my source :)...)

 we'll start tomorrow though...

p.s. in case you were wondering.. I did say "funner". and I don't care what you think. it's a word. it sounds just fine!

in case you were wondering...

  • i think i now have enough wallflowers to last me my entire life... it's become a bit of an obsession. the 4 for $20 or 6 for $24 sale is going on right now.... i got 6. 6 wallflower bulbs. well 5, and one new plug... but still. plus, semi-annual just ended, and you can bet i took advantage of those $5 2-packs! i LOVE bbw. i have so many... my house will smell so good. forever.
  • this is my new favorite:
  • i just barely gave kylee her christmas present. i'm awful. such a procrastinator. she's crazy enough to still be my friend though. thanks, ky :)
  • "Easy A" has officially made my top 10.
  • I made this (and i'm really proud. because it's really cute):
  • hot fudge sundae poptarts are giving the cookies and cream poptarts a run for their money in my book
  • i will never sew another tablecloth again. one time only. but they're perfect :)
  • when i type my name, i almost always spell "katie" wrong on the first try. almost always. it usually comes out kaite.
  • if i could be in any movie... it would be Threat Level Midnight.
  • kylee and i worked at jobs with the same acronym. BABW. build-a-bear-workshop and bath-and-body-works. we're cute.
  • flamingo babies are actually grey. they turn pink because of all the shrimp they eat. at least that's what cha cha told me one time
  • monday is the most popular day for suicide. how i know this? no idea. but it's really sad :(
  • i think i'm becoming legitimately addicted to online shopping, haha
  • i am also addicted to the show called "my strange addiction"
DO YOU WANT TO KNOW SOME OF THE THINGS PEOPLE ARE ADDICTED TO?

you don't.
trust me.

but i'm going to tell you anyway.

so far, the season has featured:

>a woman who sleeps with her blowdryer. turned on. she is covered in serious burn marks.
>a woman who snacks on toilet paper. obessively. eats it like cotton candy.
>a woman addicted to extreme body building. works out like 6 hours a day, and takes HGH and tons of other supplements every single morning.
>a woman who sucks her thumb. she's 24. and she sucks her thumb almost constantly.
>a woman who eats household cleansers. eats them. (chemicals? acids? lye?... really?!)
>a woman addicted to tanning. she slightly resembles an oompa loompa.
>a woman addicted to ventriloquism. takes her dolls everywhere. treats them like people. talks to them, and through them.
>a woman addicted to cats. even though she is severely allergic. she has over 20, and gets new cats almost every day.
>a woman addicted to eating laundry detergent powder. and hand soap. as in... licking the soap off her hands as she is washing them.
>a man addicted to strongman competitions. he drags cars around and stuff.
>a woman addicted to shoes. she worries about them like they are her children, and feels like she neglects them when she doesn't wear them. she has 200+ pairs, and is in debt, obviously.
>a woman addicted to pulling out her hair and eating the follicle. and yes, she is almost bald.
>a woman addicted to wearing fur suits. everywhere she goes. like, full-on mascot uniform fur suits...
>a woman addicted to eating couch cushion. she has eaten a total of 7 couches throughout her addiction so far.
>a man addicted to a silicon doll. oh yeah, and he's married to it. he talks to her. buys her things. dresses her, does her hair... gets offended when people don't acknowledge her, and thinks it will become a popular lifestyle.
>a woman addicted to picking scabs. i couldn't watch that episode. too much blood.
>a woman addicted to cleaning. cleans at least 8 hours a day. and gets aggressive when her standards aren't upheld by her son and husband.
>a woman addicted to collecting rocks. and treating them like children or pets. she has about a million.
>a man addicted to eating glass. champagne glasses mostly. and light bulbs. he literally. eats. glass. and just for attention.
>a woman addicted to bleaching her skin.
>a woman addicted to eating pottery. and cigarette ashes. just the ashes. and yes, her teeth are horrible from all the pottery consumption. even her baby son is trying to eat pottery now because he watches her do it...
>a woman addicted to taking laxatives. between 100-250 EVERY. DAY.

it's so disturbing. but so intriguing. how do they LIVE LIKE THAT?!?!

things that make you go... bleaugh!

p.s. i like to make lists. in case you were wondering. and also... last night, kylee and i were bored, and D went to the Banff Film Festival, so we went for a drive. i wanted a shake, so we went to in-n-out and got chocolate shakes. then we were craving fries, so we drove to mcdonald's. that made us thirsty, so we went to wendy's and got soda. 3 drive-thru windows. less than 2 hours.

we're awesome.

munchkins

for Christmas, one thing Dev gave me was a gift card to get a 60 minute massage from Remedez, and today I finally went!

It was exactly what I needed. Such a cool experience -- the massage therapist did a lot of imagry stuff and used chakra balance stuff to figure out what I really needed -- she basically read my mind, it was awesome. ALL the knots in my back are gone, and I feel soooo relaxed!

THEN

I got to spend about an hour babysitting the MUNCHKINS!!!

Amanda and Jason are in California for a couple days, so Devin's mom Vicki has been staying with the kids. Tonight, Vicki and Gaylon had dinner plans, so I volunteered so stay with the babies.

They are the most hilarious children. We played with plato for awhile-- Kayla made me a plato hamburger, and Kaden used lots of cookie cutters, then we made letters:

until they got bored -- which was fast.

so then we played red light, green light and mother may i, until they got bored. again.

As soon as they were done playing structured games... I lost them, and they kind of went awry. Makayla and Kaden grabbed their flashlights and started turning off all the lights and I chased them around the house keeping them out of the bedrooms and turning all the lights back on, while trying to keep baby Addi happy.

At one point: I found the kids hiding under Addison's crib, whispering. I told them to come play in the living room instead, and I got no response, but I can see their flashlights bobbing around under the crib. Finally I said "makayla and kaden! get out from under the crib!" they were baffled.

"HOW DID YOU KNOW WE WERE UNDER THERE?!?!" haha

i decided it was time to change into pajamas, so I sent them to their rooms, while I attempted to change Addi.

Makayla came up eventually, and Addi and I were playing -- she had only made it into a clean diaper-- I hadn't dared put on a onesie, haha she's wiggly.

I realized I hadn't seen Kaden in a few minutes, so I went to check on him... THIS is what I found:

i could NOT contain myself.

I was trying to be stern, but it just wasn't happening.

me: [laughing] "kaden. WHAT are you wearing?!?!"
kaden: "i jus wan go ouside..."
me: [laughing] "buddy, it's dark and it's way too cold! we can't play outside. i need you to put your jammies on."
kaden: "i won be cold! i have THIS [gestures to spiderman pancho like vanna white] and my lon sleeve shir will keep me warrrrmmmm"
me: [laughing] "thirty seconds. stay on the porch."

it was hilarious. totally worth it. we were all satisfied. the sunglasses are my favorite part. what a gem, that boy is. he is the coolest kid. ever.

back to the livingroom to put pj's on a squirmy baby... not happening.

meanwhile... Makayla spends a good 5 minutes yelling at her ice cubes. Saying they need to be punished because they have disobeyed, and i spent at least 10 minutes trying to convince her that ICE can't do anything wrong... hahaha!

Vicki showed up just as Addi was getting restless -- haha, good timing!

I love these kids so much! They are wild, but they are so much fun.

Makayla is so witty, and makes up games on the spot -- she is always so entertaining.

Kaden is the epitome of "kids say the darndest things" -- the things that come out of that boy's mouth CRACK ME UP!!!

And Addi is the most darling little baby. She was so cuddley and funny all night. She loves to click her tongue and make noise and crawl -- she crawls SO fast. She could be a baby olympian!

oooh I love them!

While I was there, I put the tableclothes on the tables (because we had set everything up in Amanda's basement to see how it would look) and they are PERFECT!! I am SO relieved. NOW I'm getting excited for the show! so once again:

SATURDAY
PROVO HIGH
10-5
http://www.capturedbydash.com/
come see the booth! say hi! i'm sure there will be tons of other cool stuff -- but you'll want to come JUST for Captured by Dash! I promise! it's worthing seeing!

Later, Devin came over to my house and we watched the new episode of The Office...

THREAT LEVEL MIDNIGHT.

our lives are now complete. that was AMAZING.

also -- i love devin :) sooooo very much. he's so patient and sweet, and best company! ;) i'm excited for the show on saturday -- but i'm more excited for it to be OVER so he can stop stressing out!!! it will be so great though!

p.s. in case you were wondering... HOT CHOCOLATE is in fact, not a choice drink when you are congested. As good as that idea sounds, and as delicious as hot chocolate is... no bueno.

also... trying to counter-act that mistake with a big glass of orange juice? also a bad idea. not a good combination of flavors.

BUT... the power size fresh squeezed orange juice from jamba juice may be $5... but it's totally worth it. Best orange juice ever. and i normally don't even like orange juice, so that's saying something.

satisfaction guaranteed.

so... Ellen's guests today were: LIAM NESSON, who I love. Definitely one of my favorite actors ever... and MICHELLE, from the bachlor.

Michelle played the "nice girl", but Ellen still called her out on being crazy, so that's good enough for me.

Also... Ellen, could I have a chevy cruze? that'd be awesome. i'd even give you something. like a high-5, or a hug... i'd send a thank you card. i'd do a dance... i'd give you my dodge neon... the list goes on. you'd pretty much be rolling in gifts and nice gestures from me... just sayin.

Also... I may quite possibly be the best girlfriend ever.
That's probably a total lie -- I know that I couldn't have gotten any luckier with being Devin's girlfriend... but he could do so much bette! haha

But I did get him a caramel apple from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory today. just because.

well... just because he's really stressed lately. and i thought he'd enjoy a tiger butter caramel apple.

The last time I got him one was when he failed a math test though, so maybe it's a bad omen.

oh well :) haha

but anyway... I have gone years using just cash for everything, never had a debit or credit card, because i was intimidated by them, I guess?

but I finally got one a couple months ago.... mmm like awhile ago, not really sure when... but ever since ive had it... I have been addicted to online shopping.

it's not bad... i just make lots of huge wishlists on websites.

but i finally ordered some things from amazon.com, and 2 of them came today! i got some cute shoes, and a really cool copy of TKAM, that i was really looking forward to. Both packages came much faster than i expected! It's so much fun to get packages in the mail! I love it. I am definitely going to keep up this online shopping thing. it's so satisfying to me. and easy. it takes the least possible amount of effort.

wow... we are such a lazy generation! haha
but really -- how else would i get a rare copy of my favorite book from a tiny little book shop in London?!

i feel like there was more to say, but I guess it wasn't too important if i already forgot. I'm mostly just trying to kill time, because it's only 7:03 and D doesn't get out of class until 8:30... hmph.

he better not read this during class -- or it will spoil my surprise!!!

but anyway... moral of this post: Liam Neeson is awesome. and I really want to see his new movie.

p.s. in case you were wondering... storm's coming.

no really, there's like a wind warning or something... sheeeeesh. and i thought we were getting closer to spring!

also: got a call from Derek today right after he opened his mission call... NEW DEHLI, INDIA. yeah. i didn't believe it either -- happy for him, though. he will be a great missionary.

another thing: because of last night's episode of glee... stinkin' Sam now has "baby" stuck in my head. uuugggghhh haha "even though your mouth-to-face ratio is like.. WAY off...."

ding dong the witch is... sent home before hometowns week! + priceless family moments

i can't even believe i forgot to mention this earlier, because i'm completely ECSTATIC!

SHE'S GONE!!!!
Brad finally sent her home.
she was very successful, though.
successful in humiliating Salt Lake City, and the entire state of Utah, at that.
sorry michelle, keeping a fridge full of turkey and eggs does not make you soulmates...
go push some other man around
but leave carlos boozer alone

GOOD RIDDANCE.

anyway:

memorable quotes of the evening:

let me set the scene for you, first:

it's wednesday, and it's 7, which means glee is on...
devin's at school until 8 or 8:30 ish...
so i've got time.
i go upstairs to find the only other members in my family that like glee, already conveniently in the living room.
i'm getting excited, obviously...
"hey! glee is on! do you guys wanna watch?"
their response was delayed by probably 10-15 seconds

why?

because my young brother was playing some lego star wars wii game

WITH MY MOM.

and they said no.
they would rather play their lego star wars wii game than watch the awesome episode of glee that was airing as we spoke.

so i argued and double checked, and triple checked that they would rather play their lego star wars wii game instead.

they said yes, we want to play our lego star wars wii game, and your glee episode will just have to wait.

fortunately, my wonderful boyfriend texted me at that very moment

so i told them fine, i will go to my boyfriend's house instead.

they didn't respond.
probably too busy playing their lego star wars wii game.

when i came home an hour and a half later....
they hadn't moved.

so i just laughed at them
and took a seat to see what all the hype was about

the game was boring
but their conversation was priceless

(they had just found or unlocked or discovered or earned or won... new characters, and were changing the characters' looks to their liking)

Mom's looked like the lego baby of clint eastwood and harrison ford -- no surprise there.

plus also, she's mom. she's not technologically savvy -- and that's safe to say here, because she will never read this. not because i won't allow her to -- but because she probably doesn't know how.

needless to say, she was struggling to get a hold of how to use the wii controller, which is only funny because devin's 8 and 4 year old niece and nephew can use those things like professionals.

she knows she is ridiculous, and that is why i love her

"i just need to get some tights on this guy and we're good to go!"

oooh mother. how i love you.

the whole time they are giving their new characters these makeovers (?), mom kept hitting the wrong button and moving them around in weird ways

kyle: "mother!"
mom: "what am i doing?"
kyle: "you're pushing buttons!"
me: "well kyle, that's what you get for playing video games with your MOM"

hahaha
i love my family.

p.s. after my conversation with kylee tonight. we both discovered we have over 100 books each. i have 112. read all but maybe 20.
in case you were wondering...

surprise!

i love surprises -- always have.

i will pretend like a don't, and try to get you to tell me what you're doing (common occurance for Devin...), but truthfully, I don't actually want to know, so don't tell me.

i was enlightened today by a conversation i overheard about how different life would be if we knew what was coming...

if i knew i was going to die tomorrow, would it ruin how great it was to spend some time with Devin tonight after a long day? i wouldn't necessarily have been in a great mood, right?

if i knew i was going to be rich and successful no matter what i did -- i probably wouldn't do much of anything... right again?

are you catching my drift? there is no point in trying if you already know you're going to fail... but what's the fun in that?

so... this is my conclusion:

p.s. in case you were wondering... a cockroach can survive 9 days with it's head cut off, and Rachel and Mercedes performed my favorite Broadway song (Take Me or Leave Me from RENT) tonight on Glee

...EEEEEE!!!! (on both accounts, really... but in a scared-slash-totally-creeped-out -sounding tone for the first fact, and an excited-slash-can-barely-contain-myself -sounding tone for the second)

hallelujah

i finally finished the tableclothes.

can we celebrate? because it's definitely something worth celebrating about.

i told Devin this was a one-time-only thing, and i'm never sewing another tablecloth again in my life.

that may or may not be true... but for now... well for a really really long time... i'm DONE.

although... i'm going to try a basic high-waisted skirt soon. which i think will be easier.

mostly because it won't be 9 feet long, probably...

and there won't be 4 of them.

ANYWAY. i'm really happy they are done, and they look good, and i'm SO excited for the bridal show!

so again:

Provo Bridal Fair
February 19, 2011
10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Provo High School

COME!!! It's going to be really fun. Devin's booth is going to look so sharp. And so will he ;) and IIII will be there! And so will Chloe!  You'll at least want to come say hi

Brides who book Devin through the bridal show get extra incentives, as if his packages and prices weren't already awesome enough!

PLEASE look at his website and see for yourself! Tell your friends, and your classmates, and random people you see on the street -- tell them all! I even have a stack of his business cards if you want one, or can hang it up at your work or something.

He has some really, really awesome new products that he offers with his packages -- he has put so much work into his business and i'm really proud of it!

i feel so relieved now that those tableclothes are done, though. that was the whole point of this.

but also: COME TO THE SHOW!!!

now i'm going to iron some tableclothes... :)

p.s. in case you were wondering... Andy Sandberg could quite possibly be one of the funniest people. Ever. I love SNL. And I love THE CREEP!
