[boring] update.

i've been posting a lot lately, but not really about what's going on with the ashby's... i've mostly just been posting things.

so this week has been pretty busy. we've had something going on every night. like always.

Sunday, we got back from the wedge. didn't go to church because we didn't really leave ourselves enough time, plus also-- my knee hurt real bad.

but we did go to Uncle Chris and Aunt Kim's house to celebrate that their son, Matt just got home from his mission in England! I love Devin's extended family. They are all so nice and funny. Devin's dad has a bunch of brothers and one sister, just like mine. They're all great! plus also--- the food at these kind of things is always delicious. It's like wedding food, but better because it doesn't have to worry about being so fancy.

Monday... oops. I don't remember. Maybe monday was the day I went grocery shopping by myself? Maybe.

Tuesday, Kylee came over and she kept me company while I started making dinner for Devin. After We had dinner, we went to the Draper Temple. I love that temple! It is absolutely beautiful. Probably one of my favorites, now that we're one temple away from having gone to all the temples in the valley (wooooohooo)

I am so glad Devin and I took the time to make it to the temple. We go almost every week, or at least try, and I am impressed with our efforts. It was especially great to spend some time on tuesday, since I've been so stressed and worried about a job these last 2 weeks. The second we walked in the doors and the brothers scanned our recommends and said "Welcome to the temple, Sister Ashby. Looks like some newlyweds? Congratulations." : I was in the best mood. The temple does that to you.

I literally can't think of anything other than the temple and what's happening in there when I am there. Even if I try to worry about not having a job, it doesn't work. It's like the Lord is giving me a break from being worried. I can barely even remember what's going on in the world when I'm in the temple and I wouldn't have it any other way.

It was also a great night because I felt like I learned a lot. It was a huge step for me in understanding and learning more about the temple. I feel like a lot of my questions were answered. It is a huge sense of improvement when you leave the temple having learned so much.

When we were done, we picked up our pictures from Jared and came home and had chocolate dipped strawberries (my husband's genius idea!) and looked through the pictures.

Yesterday, Devin got off work really early, which I love. It's much less lonely when he's home by 3:00! We watched some Big Bang Theory and then drove the hour out to Oakley to have some dinner at the Road Island Diner before Devin's photo shoot.

We had been to the diner once before with Brandon when he lived in Francis, and it's better than I remember! I had a giant club sandwich with hand cut potato chips (for real). Delicious. Also, our waiter was dancing and talking in a sing-song voice the ENTIRE night.... and he was the only waiter in the diner, and it was pretty busy. I was impressed with his stamina. Right before our food came, Nate (the photographer) walked in with his girlfriend and we all ate together then drove up to a side road for the shoot.

Nate does a lot of work for the U of U and his photos are amazing. He does mostly sports, but he's done portraits as well. His website is here. He set up all the lights and then we shot until the sun was almost down. The pictures are amazing! Plus also--- I didn't realize the road bike look was so attractive... bibs and all ;) haha

Right as we were finishing up, it got really windy really fast and started to rain, so we ended just in time.

Tonight, there aren't any plans yet. But that almost always changes when Devin gets home. So we'll see.

Tomorrow, Sean and Kelli will be down, so we're having dinner as a family, and Saturday is girls night with my Ashby sisters. Can't wait! I haven't made it to a girls night in forever, so I'm excited to finally go. Plus I know Devin is in need of some serious devin-time.

Until Devin gets home, I'm going to watch Kaden and Addison while Amanda takes Kayla to the dentist for an emergency mouth sore mystery situation (poor girl!) and then I will try and use up the rest of our Tai Pan giftcard. There's an empty spot on the entertainment center and it's driving me nuts!

I don't even have a picture to post. Bummer dude.
