"We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are." - Marjorie Hinckley
I saw this today on pinterest, and it was exactly what I needed to hear.
I do have a pretty constant feeling of the need to prove something. But I don't know what or to who. You can imagine my frustration! It's not a fun feeling, and I am even conscious of the fact that it's not worth having, yet it continues? It doesn't make very much sense.
I'm glad Marjorie said this, because that means that it's a universal issue. That i'm not alone. And that's a little more comforting. I will just add it to my ever-growing list of things I need to work on.

AH! Katie, that quote has plagued me. I also struggle with what I am suppose to prove and to whom. I've read it several times now and find myself thinking "wait...are you sure I don't have to prove something?" But, who am I to question that wonderful inspired woman. We do need to be content with who we are. The only thing we need to prove is worthy of the Lord's presence, and even that we can't do alone. It's also a life long goal, so no need to put ourselves down for something we must continually work at! Thanks so much for the post, you are most definitely not alone! You are awesome!
