REAL friends.

so there is this new Keither Urban song, "Without You" and it's absolutely adorable. I would love it more if it weren't so specific to his own life... I really can't relate to traveling, singing, fast cars, or guitars... but i still love it.


There is one line, though, that really counts:


"and people that i barely knew love me cause i'm part of you"


having Devin in my life has opened the door to many, many new relationships. He has found himself a lot of amazing friends, and I am so blessed to call them my friends too!!!


Danica and Ryan are the first ones I met. Ryan and Devin go way back, and Danica has been around for awhile, and is dating Ryan for a few months longer than Dev and I. Danica and I have hit it off from the start. She is an amazing person. The Office expert. Absolutely hilarious in the wittiest way. Ryan has the most interesting sense of humor There is no one like Ryan! He is a musician, and really talented. He is a huge Red Sox fan, and the one and only Cheerio!


Dane, I also met at the same time as Danica and Ryan. Dane and Devin have been friends since High School, I believe, and he is one of my favorite people. He always has something to say, and has a lot of very educated opinions. He's really smart, and again, hilarious. He is also a great bowler. One of the greatest guys!


Josh and Amy Hancock. Josh is one of Devin's many mission friends. And Amy is his amazing wife!!! Josh, again, HILARIOUS. And Amy is probably the sweetest person to ever walk the earth. She is also absolutely comical. They are so much fun to play games with. I felt like we were all great friends right from the moment I met them, and we've stayed pretty close! I love hearing about Amy's adventures and a teacher at cascade elementary. She's probably the best teacher they'll ever have!


TJ and Liz. TJ is another mission buddy, and his cute wife Liz is so awesome! TJ is a seminary teacher, and Liz is about to be a mom!!! They are some of the most amazing people I've ever met. TJ's personality is absolutely magnetic. He is always so enthusiastic in way that just makes you happy! Liz tells the funniest stories, and I feel like she and I get along so great!


Michelle Heller is an amazing woman Devin taught on his mission. She has the most adorable son that I have only heard about, but he has the biggest heart, and loves Devin! She is our supplier of REAL maple syrup and Fluff! Michelle lives in New Hampshire, so I've only met her via skype, but since Dev and I have been engaged, she's been a wonderful help. She offered to make us curtains for our house, and offered all the help and advice a bride could want, since she used to be a wedding planner! She is so sweet and bubbly and I would make a trip back East just to see her if I could!


Alyse Rheaume is another girl Devin taught on his mission. She moved to Utah for college, and we ran into by chance on temple square with her now-fiance back in December. I haven't really officially spent time with Alyse, but I feel like we are very alike, and will become great friends! She is such a sweet person, and I'm so glad I got to meet her.


Christian is one of Devin's climbing buddies. Christian is married to the beautiful Sarah, and they have the most adorable, energetic, bubbly daughter Joanna, and another, Molly, on the way! We had dinner with them once -- Sarah is an AMAZING cook! But we're going on a double date on Friday to the Tulip Festival and I can't wait! I feel like i know them so much better than I actually do, because Christian is constantly razzing me and devin on facebook. One word to each other on there, and Christian is virtually rolling his eyes-- so hilarious! He loves to tease us, but I've learned to just bit back! haha Sarah is much nicer (haha), and she's so incredible! She's the mother of a toddler, 8 months pregnant, and a genius nursing student! I am so impressed by her.


Emily and Andrew. Emily and Devin went to high school together, and I have run into her about a million times at BBW! We finally hung out a couple weeks ago, and emily and andrew could not be more perfect for each other. They are quite a pair! They have some pretty entertaining banter, and Emily is probably the most fashionable person I've ever met. She's absolutely gorgeous, and I'm so glad that she's my friend.


Katie Terry and Kelli Knight. Devin met them living at the Branberry (however you spell it), and Katie not lives up in Washington. Kelli lives in Ogden with her husband (shop at Knight's furniture!). We went to dinner with them once, but I definitely consider them friends. Katie should be on TV. Her sense of humor and her personality are meant to be seen by the world! She truly is hilarious (i know i keep saying that about everyone, but it's true!). They are both so much fun to be around!


Brittany Poulsen and Devin met in the MTC, and Brittany is probably the most down to earth girl I have ever met. She is so laid back, and so much fun. She knows a lot about everything, and just graduated from the U in social sciences, I believe! She and her awesome boyfriend Joe have been so much fun to hang out with every time we're up in Salt Lake. I love them!!!


Timmy and Megan. Timmy and Devin met in a long-story way, that isn't really important to this post. But he and his wife megan are expecting little baby Jacen in about a month, and I am so excited for them! Timmy is an amazing guy. Him and I have had some really great conversations, and I know that he and devin have a really amazing friendship. I wouldn't trade my friendship with these two for the world!!! 


Chris and Katie Leder-- also expecting! Little Ellie Rose!!! Devin and Chris were mission companions, and taught Katie along with Alyse! When Chris got home, him and Katie started dating and fell in love! Cutest love story ever, I think. Chris is so funny, and Katie is so nice, and always so happy! I love them!


Shawn Merrill. Oh Shawn. so many things I could say. Devin's friend since Junior High! Shawn is probably the craziest, most eccentric man i've ever met. He is always doing ten million things. Traveling the world... he amazes me. He is such a great guy. And I really do love him! He has been a great addition to my circle of friends, and I am glad Devin has a best friend like shawn. Minus is grandpa cardigan and hipster shades. :)


I am so grateful for all of the amazing, amazing people I have in my life now! I love all of them so much, and I am so glad Devin has made friends with such good people. There are so many more (including his awesome family!), but I only have so much time!!!


in other news....


i heard some news today, that's sort of a secret, but only an internet secret. i would tell you if you asked... but anyway, this news made me SO happy. kind of in a mocking way, but ooooh man. I am so entertained, i'm laughing! hahah best ever. maybe i'm sort of rude... but somebody ask me so i can talk about it, haha!


also, lots going on with work. lots. i'll have to share more later.


I have this sudden urge to share some more engagement photos, but i'm refraining! keeping you intrigued, aren't I?!


Ashby Family pictures are coming up next Saturday, and I'm so excited! Chloe's twin sister, Maddie will be taking our pictures. I can't wait to see what she'll do with all of us! I love my families.


today's been so great. except that I only saw devin for about 20 minutes, since he's been so sick :( we talked about some potentially serious situations that could be happening in the next couple weeks, and are both feeling very good about the choices we're making! I love Devin, and I love that he encourages me to always rely on the Lord. I also love that we have maintained such a strong relationship, as a couple. with the Lord. I couldn't be more blessed!
