antique shopping is one thing... but shopping in general is a whole nother ball game.
for a girl who doesn't like shopping much... i sure do it a lot! I am pretty sure i've shopped practically every day since i got engaged.
literally.
and when i say "shopping" i don't mean "going to the store and buying something"
"shopping" -- includes, but is not limited to: searching, seeking, hunting, comparing, rummaging, and all the like.
fwew. it's been a long day!
i went to partyland and got 600 napkins. 300 for my wedding, 300 for kelli's. they have paper goods in every color imaginable. so that's convenient.
i also made a stop at the dry cleaners to ask the woman about using a steamer on my wedding dress, because:
tomorrow we're taking bridals!!!! (hopefully at least! -- the weather better cooperate!)
today i also spent some time at Planted Earth, which is an antique stores close to my house, on 400 south and state street in Orem... it's really cute, but not my favorite. It's set up weird, and it's pretty expensive compared to other places. They also have a lot more "boutique" style things than they do antique. You know, stuff made this year, covered in lace or damask, or birds, and scuffed up to look antique. and it didn't work. it's all very cute, but it's not vintage.
I did manage, however, to score:
- an adorable blue and white plate. you know all that china that's really intricate blue and white patterns? i've been searching for the perfect one, and I found it! so cute. going on the plate rack.
- some cute little bird pins for my mom, just for fun.
- a vintage tag with a big A on it, because it looked cool.
- a bird decoration. that is amazing, and everything i wanted!
once i got home and ate some food and watched Michael's Last Dundies (every day, millions of americans suffer from extreme repulsiveness. someone in our midst is bringing that problem to light)... I was feeling crafty, and I had some extra scrapbook paper laying around, so I (inspired by this cute blog i love to follow) made a CHAIN COUNTDOWN.
yes. i'm in elementary school again.
i was trying to keep track of how many weeks or days were left until my wedding, but only half-heartedly.
i gave in, and made it official. this is the best way to count down, i think! it looks kind of menacing right now, because it's pretty long, but I know that each day I rip one off, I will physically see the chain getting shorter, and it will give me some motivation to stop being so grumpy about having to call Devin my fiance instead of my husband.
tonight, i'm sure we'll think of something fun to do -- but it will be hard to top last night!
we set up our tent! i wish we would have taken a picture. we set it up in devin's parents' basement, and it's amazing. it's small and lightweight, and WAY easy to set up (even I could do it!) and it was so roomy! makes me itch for a good camping trip PRONTO.
Devin and I agreed a long time ago that all of our free weekends would be spent in the great outdoors anyway, and now that we have a tent, we have even more of an excuse! mmm
then we ordered pizza, and devin wouldn't let us eat it in the tent, so we took it down and watched a show about the B2-Bomber, which makes me want to learn how to fly planes!
then we watched some more office. apparently, we started watching on season 3, because that's what we screen we were on when we decided to start watching them in order. that's devin's excuse anyway... I think he wanted to start on season 3, because his favorite episode is in that season! we'll start at 1 once we finish season 3 though, haha.
in other news: here are some pictures of my life lately:
this binder started out as a joke. a lady from brideaccess.com gave it to devin and i at the bridal fair, just as some swag... and i told him i would use it. he thought i was joking! haha it's actually been pretty handy.
the couch in my room has turned into wedding central. and it's only gotten worse since this picture was taken! by the way -- that's my vintage mirror! remember? haha
making a bunch of these as decorations. cooler, and cheaper than paper lanterns.
so what if i file my wedding announcements to keep them in order?! it's actually been extremely convenient!
these cover every surface of my room. okay, that's a lie. but pretty close. they are everywhere!
ALSO
it's growing!
Milo is starting to look like a tomcat. he's getting pretty roughed up out in the real world. poor guy :(
i will swear by this stuff until the day i die. C.O. Bigelow Vitamin Boost Toner -- best thing that ever happened to my face.
