with this terrible awful weekend of husbandlessness (yes. i'm going to keep riding that pity party bus. up until the minute he is back here safely, most likely), few things are bound to lift my spirits. but... i did happen to find something:
BLICKENSTAFF'S. Have you ever been there? It is the most amazing toy store / candy store. It's nestled in the middle of The Shops at Riverwoods in Provo, and provides endless entertainment. Fun for all ages, I tell you. Remember my 20th birthday? Kylee and I spent a hefty amount of our celebration time at Blickenstaff's, which provided us with all the birthday necessities: fake mustaches, a photo booth (the classic kind, too. none of these weird frames around your pictures. I even still proudly display my photo booth pictures on my magnet board), bottled soda, and bulk candy! The best thing about Blickenstaff's? They have Sour Cherry Coke gummies. My favorite candy. (who am I kidding. i love candy too much to have one single favorite. but these things are easily in my top 3. along with those grapefruit triangle things, which are also at Blickenstaff's.) Also? Every other kind of great bulk candy ever. Including an impressive array of chocolate goodies, and the old-fashioned stuff you forgot you loved (and even more that isn't bulk candy).
They have the coolest toys and gadgets, too. And mood rings. And the cutest stuffed animals. Want me to keep talking about how much I love this place? It's pretty nostalgic I think. It's everything you wished a toy store was when you were a kid. It's so classic, like out-of-a-movie classic. You can't help but leave with a foolish grin on your face. In case I didn't convince you enough, visit them here now at blickenstaffs.com and if that wasn't enough? Let me tell you how nice everybody is: everybody at Blickenstaff's is so nice. They are so helpful. They are all super friendly, and carry on conversations with you. They answer all your questions, because they have all the answers to your questions, which even further aids in the fact that you'll be leaving with that foolish grin on your face!
SO... if you live near Provo (or ever visit), and you love candy (which everybody does. i refuse to believe that somewhere in the world there is someone who doesn't like candy. or toys!) .... go to Blickenstaff's!
