i did some blogging...

day 19: a picture and a letter.

Dear May,

You are a lot of things. And I know that the majority of things that you are are out of my control, but I would like to at least give this a shot.

I really wish that you would be nice to me. There are a lot of not nice things that I'm having to do to get to you, so it'd be really awesome if when I finally got to you, you'd be nice.

I want you to come quickly. There has been nothing worse so far than waiting for you to just get here already! I wonder if maybe we could try just skipping April? It would be an experiment I'm definitely willing to try. I'm sure it would make you more popular.

I want you to be very inviting and worthwhile. I don't want to feel like all this work and effort and stress I have put into waiting for your arrival has been a bust. This is actually kind of a pointless wish, because I know that no matter how you choose to behave once you get here, I will be happy, because of what you're bringing! But don't let that change you mind about being spectacular.

I want you to be very, very warm. I know that you like to change your mind. You can be a bit bi-polar, and are very indecisive at times. You are very unpredictable. I've done some research on your past visits, and what I found was very, very disappointing: In 1924, a strong hailstorm lasted 45 minutes at La Sal in San Juan County, breaking windows and beating down crops. In 1977, winds up to 65 mph caused major damage at the Flaming Gorge marina, tossing boats out of the water. In 1994, a thunderstorm produced a wind gust to 73 mph in Provo. In 1998, a waterspout occurred over Bear Lake.

May... let's not go there again. I want your last Thursday to be your warmest day in history. I think we can make that happen. I will be totally willing to put all those hail and windstorms in the past if you can at least promise me that much. I know you and the Sun aren't very well acquainted, but there's no better time than now to make friends :)

You have the power of making me the happiest girl you've ever seen, if you'd just please at least think about my requests. I genuinely appreciate your consideration. I know you will be good to me :)

totally do-able, right? i know.
Sincerely
Katie [soon to be] Ashby
