We went up with my Dad, brother, sister, and each of them brought a friend, too.
Skiing isn't much of a group activity -- so we all got separated, and Devin and I were mostly just on our own.
It was quite the ordeal to get everyone together, get all the gear we needed, and get up there, but once we did, we got in 5 great runs!
The first 2, Devin and I were with my Dad, and it was a lot of fun! I've been skiing since I was really, really little, at least 5 years old, and Devin has been a few times, since Brandon worked on Ski Patrol for 7 years.
We are pretty much the same, talent-wise. He's just as good as me! Or... I'm just as good as him! Either way, it was so much fun to go up together, and ski! We decided we'll definitely need to start going more often.
It was also a GREAT break. Both of us needed a fun night like that! I needed a break from all the wedding planning, and Devin needed a break from, well, everything!
He skis SO fast, though! I could barely keep up! There I am, trying to concentrate on the technique that my dad has taught me, about planing my poles, and doing wide parallel, and using the whole mountain, and D's just zooming right down the middle, with awesome technique!
Although it was pretty cold, we both had so much fun! It was relaxing and exciting at the same time, and he only fell once! Our very last run, he totally ate it, and I missed it!!! Dang! Oh well. Glad I didn't fall -- I would have made a fool of myself!
We were both pretty hungry, and my dad had packed sandwiches, cookies, chips and drinks, so we headed to the Creekside Cafe and took a small break. Both of Devin's roommates work at Sundance, so we called one of them, Spencer, and he hung out with us for awhile. Spencer's an awesome guy, so it was fun to see him up there!
We were so hungry/cold/distracted that neither of us even noticed we were drinking Cream Soda, and not Root Beer, like we both thought -- it was kinda funny!
I loved having time, just Devin and I on the lift. Not talking about the wedding. Not talking about work. Not talking about school, and things we need to get done... Just talking. It was sooo nice. Thank you for such a great night, babe! Also... thank you for taking your gloves off a million times to help me put mine on, or take pictures, or unzip my coat... haha it was slightly ridiculous how helpless I was! You're the best!
I didn't get any pictures of the whole group, because like I said, we were all separated! But I think Devin and I make a great couple -- and we looked awesome in our ski get-ups!
